World Environment Day at Dbels: A Green Step Towards Real-World Learning

Planting Roots for a Better Tomorrow

On the morning of 5th June 2025, the campus of Dass & Brown Experiential Learning School (Dbels), Sector 6, Panchkula, came alive with the spirit of green action. In celebration of World Environment Day, our students, educators and Principal Ma’am joined hands to take part in a meaningful tree plantation drive.

From planting saplings to learning about the role of biodiversity, the event wasn’t just symbolic- it was a powerful hands-on experience that reflected Dbels' deep-rooted commitment to experiential learning and sustainability.

Why Tree Plantation Matters in Schools

As one of the best experiential schools in Panchkula, Dbels goes beyond textbooks to bring real-world learning into everyday life. Tree plantation is a simple yet impactful way to teach students about:

  • Environmental responsibility
  • The science of ecosystems
  • Long-term thinking and care
  • Collective action and collaboration

Our educators used this opportunity to engage students in conversations around climate change, carbon footprint and how small efforts today lead to long-term change. Each planted sapling was a lesson in sustainability, science and social responsibility.

Linking Sustainability with STREAM and Entrepreneurship

At Dbels, STREAM (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) is not a subject- it’s a way of learning. Activities like the World Environment Day celebration tie directly into our STREAM philosophy, giving students the space to explore problems, test solutions and reflect critically.

But that’s not all. Entrepreneurship education at Dbels encourages students to think like changemakers. When a child plants a tree and learns about environmental challenges, they also start thinking about solutions- recycling innovations, green business models or sustainable practices they can bring into their communities.

This is how we cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset- by connecting real-life issues with creative thinking, collaboration and action.

The entire Dbels community- students, educators, support staff and leadership- took part in the initiative. It wasn’t just a drive, but a demonstration of our school’s values in action. Every child got to plant a sapling, care for it and make a personal promise to protect the environment.

We also created reflection zones where students wrote down their “green goals” for the year- simple things like reducing plastic use, saving water or encouraging their families to reuse and recycle.

The Buzz Doesn’t Stop Here

At Dbels, every celebration is a stepping stone to deeper learning. Our entrepreneurial projects, STREAM labs and community-based learning initiatives continue throughout the year to keep the momentum going.

We thank our parents and community members for their continued support. Together, we are raising a generation of mindful, action-oriented learners who care about the world around them.
