“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”
The importance of education in the life of an individual cannot be overstated. It shapes individuals in their formative years and imbues them with values that would govern all their choices in life. We, at Dass and Brown Experiential Learning School, (DBELS) strongly believe that unless the students are taught to explore their full potential, the aim of education is not fulfilled. We envisage to give wings to the imagination of children and to guide and nurture our little caterpillars to grow up be ready to take the flight. The vision of DBELS is to nurture each child as per their own capability so as to ensure that our students do not mindlessly become a part of the rat race. We aim to equip our children with a futuristic vision, technological competence and scientific temper, values and ethics so that they have a global perspective along with Indian ethos. We also believe that every kid needs to be curious and creative; compassionate and caring.
It gives me great pleasure and pride to be associated with an educational institute that is progressive and futuristic. And, this is evident from the fact that the school is offering three schools under one roof- two international curricula and one Indian curriculum. The Finnish education is globally acclaimed and we are offering the same, for the first time in the tri city, in the early years as one of the options. Another first in the region is the first of its kind school of entrepreneurship in K-12 segment. We realize the importance for the children to navigate challenges, drive innovation and achieve success in dynamic environments in today’s volatile time.
It is said: “If you are planning for a year, sow rice; if you are planning for a decade, plant trees; if you are planning for a lifetime, educate people.” And it is the quality of education coupled with sound moral values that is the need of the hour and it is this and this alone that will determine the destiny of the education.
The prevailing circumstances in the society, coupled with the socio economic changes in the nation, are compelling our children to face challenges that were unheard of in the yesteryears. Though the opportunities have increased dramatically, so have the dangers that lurk in the background. Therein lies the enhanced role of a parent and an educational institute. We must come together for the common cause of moulding our children and preparing them to face the challenges that lie ahead.
For those parents who are worried about their children’s future and what professions they are going to pursue, Albert Einstein’s epiphany might hold the answer: Help your children find a passion that can engulf them and engage them; professions and careers will follow. So, let’s start on this note and celebrate many beginnings and opportunities and hope that students find the ‘one’ worth pursuing through a lifetime.
Come, let us join hands and charge forward for the realization of this cherished dream.
May the almighty bestow his choicest blessings on each one of us and be our guiding light forever!
